Do I have to slavishly adhere to everything my client has instructed me to emphasize?

Probably not! Your instinct will usually be better than theirs. Take their directions into consideration (sometimes it can be helpful to know what terms they consider important), but you should generally read it in a way that you feel sounds best in your voice.

If you need to send them two different versions (one their way, and one yours), that can sometimes work too. (I don’t recommend doing this too often, but it’s sometimes a helpful tool.)
